Privacy Policy
We collect only what we need to host you well — here's exactly what that means, in plain language.
1. Who we are
Fisher Three Vacations ("Fisher 3," "we," "us," or "our") operates luxury vacation rentals across the West Michigan lakeshore and the website fisher3vacations.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from visitors and guests, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Site and to reservations made directly with us.
2. What we collect
Information you provide
- Booking information. When you request a stay through our booking page, you provide your name, email address, phone number, party size, and stay dates; your request is delivered to us by email. Payment card details are collected through the secure payment link we send once your dates are confirmed and are processed by our payment processor — we never see or store your full card number.
- Contact details. If you email us, call us, or message us on social media, we receive whatever you choose to share — typically your name, contact information, and the details of your question or request.
- Stay preferences. Special requests, accessibility needs, event inquiries, and similar details you share so we can host you well.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data. Like most websites, the Site and its hosting infrastructure may record non-identifying technical information — browser type, device and operating system, pages visited, referring page, and approximate region — used in aggregate to understand how visitors use the Site.
- Analytics. We may use standard analytics tools to see which pages and stays are most helpful to visitors. Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
- Cookies. See section 5 below.
You can browse this Site without providing any personal information at all.
3. How we use your information
- To process, confirm, and manage your reservation, including sending check-in instructions and stay communications.
- To respond to questions, requests, and event inquiries.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site and our homes — for example, learning which guides and amenities guests care about most.
- To send occasional updates or offers only if you've opted in; every message includes a way to unsubscribe.
- To meet legal, tax, and safety obligations that come with operating short-term rentals.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not sell, trade, or rent personal information to anyone.
4. Payments & third-party services
A few trusted services help us run Fisher 3, and each handles your data under its own privacy policy:
- Payment processor — once we confirm your dates, we send a secure payment link; your card details are collected and processed by the payment provider over encrypted connections under its own privacy policy.
- Airbnb and Vrbo — some of our homes are also listed on these platforms. If you book there, that platform's privacy policy governs the data it collects.
- Google Maps — our property pages link to Google Maps for directions; Google's policies apply once you follow those links.
- Facebook and Instagram — we link to our social profiles; interacting with us there is governed by those platforms' policies.
We share personal information with these providers only as needed to deliver the service you asked for — never for their independent marketing.
5. Cookies
This Site may use small text files called "cookies" to enhance your experience — for example, remembering preferences and powering aggregate analytics. Our payment provider's secure checkout may use cookies to keep your payment session working.
You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. If you do, the Site will still work, though some parts of the secure payment checkout may not function properly.
6. When we share information
Beyond the service providers above, we disclose personal information only:
- With cleaning, maintenance, and guest-services staff who need stay details (dates, party size, requests) to prepare your home;
- When required by law, regulation, court order, or lodging-tax reporting obligations;
- To protect the safety of guests, neighbors, our team, or our properties; or
- As part of a business transfer, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data.
We may share aggregated, non-identifying statistics (for example, occupancy trends) that cannot be linked back to any individual.
7. How we protect your information
We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information. Booking requests reach us over encrypted connections, payment data is handled by our payment processor over encrypted connections, and access to guest information within our team is limited to the people who need it to host you.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we treat your information the way we treat our homes: with care.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep reservation records for as long as needed to manage your stay and to satisfy legal, tax, accounting, and insurance requirements. Correspondence is retained only as long as it is useful for serving you. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized.
9. Your rights over your data
You can ask us at any time to:
- Access — receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct — fix inaccurate or outdated information;
- Delete — erase personal data we hold about you, except data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes;
- Opt out — stop receiving marketing messages at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email meganf@fisher3e.com and we will respond promptly. For data collected by Airbnb, Vrbo, or other platforms, please also contact that platform directly.
10. Children's privacy
Our homes welcome families, but our Site and booking process are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check this page occasionally to stay informed about how we protect the information we collect. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
